oh my oh my, where do i start? naomi + chris have been dating since they were 13 years old (i.e. they are high school lovers.), and on one snowy but sunny morning, we shot their engagement photos together at holland park.
this giggly, loved-up couple was so easy to photograph (is it just me or do they look like a william + kate?!). naomi told me she was nervous for the shoot but as i say (and believe) every time, everyone has an inner model within them + naomi totally slayed in front of the lens, especially with chris' jokes to loosen her up.
i say this because the last spot for our shoot was at the japanese kyoto garden which was bustling with visitors. as the grass was all fenced off, i had no choice but to stand a bit further away where i couldn't direct naomi + chris' posing. and it was at this moment when i was standing afar that i felt like a proud mother - naomi + chris pranced around on the bridge + perfected pose after pose without my direction as if they were professional models! i could shed another tear thinking about it.
i had the joy of getting to know these lovebirds as we wandered around the park for photos, and more importantly the story of how they got engaged. as the two have been dating for so long, chris needed a reason to do something special with naomi. and so he executed this fine plan where he proposed to her on her birthday getaway, just after celebrating their 10 year anniversary. this isn't it - they then went to make their own wedding rings for each other + drove around in a convertible! this can defo be a scene in a film.
after our shoot, we hung out at the cafe in holland park (naomi + chris were twinning with their chai tea lattes) + i sat in awe listening to all their wedding plans for this summer. their 12 year annivesary (i know!) had also just gone, so after the shoot they were on their way to dinner to celebrate.
naomi + chris, i had such an amazing time hanging out + hearing your love story (it is beyondddd cute). i cannot wait to photograph your wedding in july + get wild on the dance floor with you guys! also naomi, i feel like everyone needs a chris who will knit them a scarf in their teenage years.
