being able to support small businesses is my pride + joy. coz real talk y'all: being a photographer + having to run my own business, i know that behind all the creative work it can be difficult when its comes to managing your business + staying motivated on your bad days.
tina is a freelance paper artist (such a mad job exists, guys) + runs her own origami earring business, storyigami, on the side. we're buds at church + i can tell you she is so passionate about her work (i.e. paper) + so darn talented at what she does. when tina reached out to me to photograph her jewellery for her website, i didn't even have to think before saying yes. we turned my parents' living room into a home studio + shot the images below. for me, this shoot didn't even feel like work but just a chill sesh with another artist.
when you get opportunities to work with other like-minded creatives, go for it. it is so awesome to be inspired by other creatives + get a glimpse into their art. i was so amazed by how similar our vibes were - plants + minimalism were big time scorers in our shoot. as tina is also a paper artist, she literally made paper props on set [insert shock faced emoji].
if you want to own a pair (or a few pairs!) of tina's handmade origami jewellery, you can purchase them at https://www.storyigami.com/. be sure to also follow her on instagram too @storyigami!
