ever since i started this whole photography thing, i've managed to connect + work with many talented people - and the artist behind studio squig, sarah, was one of them. with her unique carpentry skills, sarah carves out her jewellery designs from wood before making them into moulds + casting them in metal. finally, she adds a touch of extra sparkle by gold plating these babies up.
it's so awesome when you get to work with other creatives because they see things from a different artisic view + have ideas to bring about a particular vision. for sarah, she really wanted to incorporate the 'handcrafted' look by incorporating some shots of hands holding her pieces + some behind the scenes/making shots.
i am IN LOVE with the whole colour palette of her brand + these textures of silk, wood + metal. without sounding like a creep, sarah's room is also house goals lol. it featured this amazing wooden side table in the shape of a hexagon that she made herself. sarah hopes to expand her studio to furniture design in the future, and you know who will be first in line to buy her whole shop? me.
thank you, sarah, for giving me the opportunity to see the behind the scenes of your craft. you are inspiring + i can't wait to see the new additions to squig! p.s. if you ever do a workshop again, i'll be there!
