Zara + Tim planned to tie the knot in an intimate wedding celebration surrounded by their closest friends and family (some who flew all the way from Dubai!). We had a little meeting at Pret before their wedding day and as they described how they just wanted documentary images that captured everyone enjoying themselves and their laid back, fun party vibes, I knew that we would be the perfect fit.
The church that Zara + Tim picked had beautiful wooden features and was the perfect size for all their guests who were shuttled in in a vintage green bus. After exchanging their vows, they had an epic confetti toss before heading off to continue their celebrations at The Weyside in Guildford.
Originally, when we first chatted on the phone, Zara + Tim told me that they didn't want solo bridal portraits as they felt they were awkward in front of the camera. But I'm soooo glad that they changed their minds last minute and decided to squeeze out half an hour from their timeline for some photos because I'm in love with the location and how they turned out. The Weyside was perfectly situated next to a rowing club with v cool backdrops including rowing boats and a massive field. We also had a few passersby hiking along the field who wished Zara + Tim congratulations as we had our mini session!
When I asked whether there were any poses they wanted to do, Zara requested 'the hipster' pose. And it was literally perfection when I spotted a shed which stored all the rowing equipment. We had a blast and turned awkward into fun, and fun into memories.
The Weyside is a pub/restaurant with 'boathouses' on the deck for all of Zara + Tim's guests. It was beautifully decorated with fairy lights and pops of colour (I was really vibing it). The flowers were supplied by 'Bride and Blooms' and I was in LOVE with how vibrant the florals were to match the fun summer party theme.
All of Zara + Tim's guests (young and old) were so much fun and I got to meet them all during our hilarious time of group photos. The speeches got to me too - my heart was all fuzzy from feeling the love in the room from family and friends from all over the world.
P.s. Zara's wedding dress has pockets and I think it's the coolest thing ever.
Here's the most amazing words from Zara + Tim:
"Heather was incredible from start to finish. She was incredibly organised pre wedding and asked us all of the right questions to ensure we knew exactly what we wanted and didn't want on the day. Heather took beautiful pictures, and made a potentially awkward couples photo shoot enjoyable and relaxed! Heather's candid photos captured our guests best moments and everyone commented on how polite and sweet Heather and her boyfriend had been after the wedding. Heather thought of everything and even sent us the most beautiful printed photographs with a thoughtful note a few months after the wedding - something she didn't have to do and we weren't expecting but it was a lovely touch. I would recommend anyone to Heather and would give her 6 stars if possible!"
Thank you, Zara + Tim, for inviting me to document your special day and looking after me along with your family and friends. I had so much fun with you guys and wish you heaps of happiness as you start life together as Mr and Mrs Murdoch!
